Well once again it was Sunday and Z’s turn to pick a cocktail. Having overheard the need to find something to do with our limoncello, he looked in his app again and dug up the Izayoi.

This drink’s history is a mystery. It shares a name with an anime character, as well as having many other different drinks that contain its name in whole or in part, but has no clear story. So we threw caution to the wind and made a double version of the following recipe.

 Ingredients

• 1 oz limoncello
• 1/6 oz vodka
• 1/3 oz grapefruit juice
• 1/6 oz grenadine
• 1/6 oz lemon juice

The verdict: Most of us liked it, although B says he doesn’t care for the bitterness of the limoncello. It was a tasty balance between the sweet of the grenadine and the citrus of the grapefruit and lemon juice and definitely one we will try again.
