Fire Starter

Once again we delved into the Mixologist app for a modern mix that we could concoct with our on-hand ingredients. The Fire Starter has no readily available history, but a quick Google shows it as a popular cocktail albeit with multiple spellings.

The evening’s version was slightly modified by cutting everything down to half and serving in a tumbler.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz vodka
  • 1 oz peach schnapps
  • 1 oz sloe gin
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • Coke

Pour all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well, and serve. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, orange wedges or lime wedges.

The verdict: It was sweet. Very sweet. So the opinions varied. But in the end, another successful cocktail well worth the experimenting. And at the end of the day, isn’t experimentation the reason why we do this?
