One memorable recent Thursday evening was the broadcast of Laverne Cox et al. in the remade Rocky Horror Picture Show. The communopoly could not let the event go unremarked — or untoasted. But what to drink while watching such an extravaganza?
Fortunately, TheDrunkenMoogle.com came to the rescue. Absolut Pleasure is a delicious creation for just this purpose. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find Kirschwasser, so we used Bols. Here’s the recipe.
Ingredients
- A few drops of absinthe
- 4 maraschino cherries
- 1.5 oz Bols cherry brandy
- 1 oz Absolut vodka
- 1/4 oz Irish Cream
- 1/4 oz simple syrup
Coat a martini glass with absinthe. Muddle two cherries in a cocktail shaker; reserve the other two. Add ice and shake the remaining ingredients. Strain into the absinthe-coated glass. Garnish with the reserved cherries.
The verdict: Those of us who like maraschino cherries really liked this cocktail. It’s very sweet, tremendously aromatic, a little sharp, and really really boozy. So perfect for our purposes. The almond scent of the Bols adds an extra layer to the experience. If you’re a fan of pink, girly drinks, you just might want to try Absolut Pleasure.
