We needed to throw together a quick cocktail for the 2019 winter solstice and I was looking for something tart and cool to reflect the season. I started searching for martinis and came across several variations of this delightful little mix and it looked like it had potential.

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz vodka
• .5 oz triple sec
• .75 oz fresh lime juice
• 1 tsp of super fine sugar

Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. If you don’t have fine sugar you can do what I did and go at it with a mortar and pestle. Shake with ice until the sugar is dissolved. Wet the rim of your martini glass and and dip into some extra sugar. Garnish with a lime peel.

The verdict: Yum. Simply yum. We definitely were on the verge of making another round when we realized we were off for our annual Xmas food bank shop. But we will definitely be trying this one again.
